By Mike Malpiedi

This weekend Sony is hosting its Playstation Experience event where they are showing off all of the great games and features coming to Playstation consoles in the coming months/years. There has already been dozens of trailers and announcements for games such as Marvel Vs Capcom (confirming the rumors), Last of Us Part 2, and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

With so much being announced every hour, Split Screens is helping you keep up to speed by tracking all of the announcements in one centralized location. So without further ado, let’s get into all the games we will be drooling over for the foreseeable future…

Sony Playstation Experience – Day One

Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite Revealed

Rumors have been floating around the internet about a possible Marvel Vs Capcom reveal at PSX and sure enough that it what we got. Capcom officially revealed the next installment in the Marvel Vs Capcom series titled, Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite. Based on the trailer, the rumors (first reported by Polygon) appear to be true that this Marvel Vs Capcom roster will be looking to focus more on Marvel characters currently being utilized within the MCU than fan-favorite X-Men characters like Wolverine, X-23, Deadpool, and Magneto. The brief announcement trailer shows Ryu and a returning Mega Man (at least you’ve learned one thing from fans Capcom!) going up against Iron Man and Captain Marvel (a newcomer to the series). At the end you can see a mysterious figure who is more than likely the games antagonist, but the villains identity has yet to be revealed. Is it Thanos? Possibly given the villains prominence in the MCU, but it could be someone else entirely. The game is currently slated for a 2017 release.

For now let’s just marvel (yes, I went there) at the idea of Captain Marvel obliterating Ryu with here badass-ness:

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is Available on PS4 Today

Speaking of Marvel Vs Capcom, it was also revealed that Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is returning to consoles after previously being removed from eshops by Marvel and Disney back in 2013. UMvC3 is now available for digital download on PS4 as of today and will be available on PC and Xbox One come March 2017. The game has been updated to run in 1080p at 60fps. You can check out the official trailer here:

Crash Bandicoot is Returning With Not One, But Three Remastered Games

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was unveiled finally by Naughty Dog. The remastered collection will feature all three of Crash’s great adventures from the original Playstation. And to everyone’s excitement, the trailer delivers and this wild marsupial has never looked better. Get ready to spin, jump and crash with your favorite Bandicoot next year:

Naughty Dog Stole the Show with The Last of Us Part 2 and a New Uncharted

Not only did Naughty Dog reveal the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, but they brought The Last of Us and Uncharted to the party too. Yes, you read that right… More Naughty Dog greatness is barreling our way. There also seems to be a greater focus given to the female leads of both series, which is a wonderful change of pace. And by the looks of these trailers, we are in for some incredible experiences. Honestly, I’ll just let the trailers speak for themselves on this one:

The Last of Us Part 2

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Ni No Kuni 2 is Absolutely Stunning

Again, just watch the trailer. The original Ni No Kuni was stunning, but the sequel is on a whole other level:

Resident Evil 7 Has a New Demo and Trailer

A new demo for the next installment of the survival horror series titled, “Banned Footage,” will be available on PS4 later today. The announcement of the demo came along with a new trailer for the game which continues to give more context to the setting and new characters. You get to see a lot more of the horrific Baker family, who have been examined in previous trailers, as well as other monstrosities that you will be facing (and running from) in the new Resident Evil. Capcom is definitely looking to find the series’ horror roots again as it has been slipping more and more into the action-genre since Resident Evil 5. The game is taking a first-person approach and abandoning the traditional zombies and zombie-esque monsters for a creepy, haunted farm home full of supernatural lunatics and creatures.

The game is stirring quite a bit of debate among Resident Evil fans since Capcom is drastically changing elements of the Resident Evil formula in order to give a more visceral and intimate horror experience. The new Resident Evil is being compared to many other survival horror titles such as Silent Hill, P.T., and The Evil Within. For some fans, the new direction feels inauthentic and their dislike has led to the creation of the hashtag, #NotMyResident (a silly play off of #NotMyPresident). Regardless, the new Resident Evil is definitely going in an intense and horrifying new direction. We shall see in January if Capcom can rekindle the what makes Resident Evil a true horror series:

More Classic Playstation Titles are Getting Remasters

Sony announced that Parappa the Rapper, LocoRoco, and Patapon are all currently being remastered for PS4. A demo for Parappa the Rapper will be made available today on PS4. It was also noted that each game will support 4K resolution when playing on the PS4 Pro:

Knack 2?

I guess for some reason Sony felt that their mediocre PS4 launch title Knack deserved a sequel. Well, I guess we shall see how it goes:

Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Remake Heading West

Both a remake of the original Yakuza, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza 6 will be coming west in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Yakuza Kiwami is a completely rebuilt version of the original Yakuza for PS4 and will be released “Summer 2017.” Yakuza 6 will see its Western release in “Early 2018.” An announcement trailer followed the confirmation:
